Wasim Jaffer sends a ‘hidden message’ to Rahane via Twitter

India’s former Test opener and Ranji Trophy legend Wasim Jaffer in the recent past has carved a niche on social media for his quirky posts on Twitter. Through his tweets, Jaffer often trolls other cricketers and displays a great sense of humour. In the same vein as he wished stand-in-captain Ajinkya Rahane luck for the upcoming Boxing Day Test he also sent him a ‘hidden message’.

When you pick the first alphabet of each word from his hidden message then you get the message – PICK GILL AND RAHUL.

Shubhman Gill during the warm-up match impressed everyone with his performance. But unfortunately, he wasn’t picked for the first Test as the selectors went in with Prithvi Shaw. Now with Kohli’s absence and a shattered Shaw, the team will look to include KL Rahul to open alongside Karanataka mate Agarwal and Gill could be drafted in the middle order of the batting lineup.

In the past, Rahul has played in Australia and has even scored a century while Gill on the other hand is waiting for his call in the Test squad so that he could show his class in the longer format.

With India having to prove their grit both Rahul and Gill can bring much-needed change to the Test team. There are also suggestions of swapping Wriddhiman Saha with Rishabh Pant but the latter’s poor batting performance away from India is something that the selectors should keep their eyes on.
