Young seamer Arshdeep Singh has opened up on getting the maiden India call-up for the upcoming T20I series against the Proteas. The left-arm pacer bowled consistently well for Punjab Kings in the last couple of IPL seasons. He created a reputation for himself by being the death overs specialist. Though Arshdeep claimed just 10 wickets in 14 matches in IPL 2022, his economy rate of 7.70 made him a standout performer.

The Punjab Kings bowler can nail yorkers with great precision in the death overs. The 23-year-old seamer admitted that he is feeling really good and grateful after being picked in the Indian squad. Arshdeep stated that clarity of role helped him well in executing his plans. The Punjab cricketer added that there will be butterflies in the stomach, no matter how much cricket is being played.

The excitement to play cricket is always there in a cricketer. Arshdeep praised his bowling coach Jaswant Rai and also the bowling of PBKS Damien Wright for making a quality bowler. The young bowler expressed that he follows his routines and processes before each game and tries to make sure that he does not miss them.

Arshdeep admitted that he wants to work hard to be more consistent. Arshdeep further added that he will try to pick the brains of Team India head coach Rahul Dravid and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey. The young cricketer concluded that he will try his best to figure out in what mental state the player should be in.
