Virat becomes the fastest player to reach 22,000 runs in International cricket

Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team is returning to his glorious form. In the second ODI against Australia, he scored 89 runs off 83 balls. Even though India lost the ODI series another achievement has been added to the record book of Virat Kohli. The Indian run-machine has now become the fastest to reach 22,000 runs, leaving Sachin Tendulkar behind.

After the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan fell in the eighth over, captain Virat Kohli came to bat. As long Virat Kohli was at the crease, there was hope for Indian team remaining in this match. But as soon as the Indian captain was dismissed the team lost its way.

Virat with this record has now joined an elite list of batsmen and has become the fastest player to complete 22,000 runs in international cricket.

Virat Kohli took 462 innings to touch the figure of 22,000 runs. At the same time, Sachin Tendulkar touched this figure in 493 innings. Kohli now has 22011 international runs at an average of 50 in all three formats. He has scored 7240 runs in Tests, 12834 runs in ODIs and 2794 runs in T20 Internationals.

In the overall list, Kohli is eighth in the list of players who have scored the most international runs. Sachin Tendulkar is the first number in this list with 34357 runs. Rahul Dravid is the second Indian player on this list with 24208 runs.
