Indian U-19 stars defeated England U-19 by four-wickets to win the ICC World Cup 2022 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua. India clinched the U-19 World Cup trophy for a record fifth time, having previously won the trophy in 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2018. The English men have to return home with their heads held high, despite a heartbreaking defeat.  Chasing a target of 190 runs, India reached 195/6 in 47.4 overs to script history.

Nishant Sindhu batted brilliantly and scored an unbeaten 50 runs, which turned out to be a match-winning knock. Top-order batter Shaik Rasheed played a crucial role and smashed 50 runs. England bowlers Joshua Boyden, James Sales, and Thomas Aspinwall took two wickets each. However, they failed to take wickets and put pressure towards the end.

Earlier, India bowled out England for 189 in 44.5 overs. Indian bowlers collapsed the England batting order from the start. Indian pacers Ravi Kumar and Raj Bawa were phenomenal with the ball as they reduced England to 91/7 in 24.3 overs. Both troubled the English batters by bowling deliveries with excellent line and length. While Bawa registered a five-wicket haul, Kumar bagged four.

James Rew showed resistance and scored a blistering 95-run which helped his side to reach a decent total. In response, England stunned India by dismissing Angkrish Raghuvanshi for a duck. While Hanoor Singh managed to score 21, skipper Yash Dhull went back for 17. Bawa played a handy knock of 35-run to reach the target. Raj Bawa received the player of the match award for his fine performance with both bat and ball.
