T20 World Cup: Suresh Raina tells team India to “Do it for Virat Kohli”

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina said that Virat Kohli deserves to finish his T20 captaincy stint by winning the T20 World Cup. Virat Kohli will step down from T20 captaincy after the ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE. Raina said the world’s top-class batsman should receive a happy farewell from his teammates.

Suresh Raina added that the message for Indian players at the T20 World Cup is simple “Do it for Virat Kohli”. Suresh Raina feels that Virat Kohli must end the geology by winning the ICC T20 trophy as Kohli has not won any ICC trophy. Kohli needs to make everyone believe that he can lead his boys to win big tournaments. Raina said that the recently ended IPL could help the Indian players during the World Cup as they know the pitch conditions well. Team India has brilliant players in all three departments. India should execute well to win the title.

Raina believes the key to India’s success in the tournament lies in the performance of the top three batters Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli. Former Indian all-rounder Raina believes mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy will be the main guy in the Indian bowling attack. Chakravarthy will play a crucial role for India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, considering the slow nature of the pitches in the UAE and Oman. Chakravarthy has shown that he can exploit the pace of the pitches and finished the IPL with 18 wickets. Mr.IPL Raina added that the Indian pace attack has plenty of experience.

Inclusion of Shardul Thakur will give extra strength to their bowling lineup. Senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead well and has the knowledge to deal with the big games. India will begin their World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on 24th October in Dubai.
