Pakistan’s pace bowler Mohammad Abbas pleased cricket buffs the world over when he wiped out the in-form batsman Ben Stokes on Thursday with a delivery that stunned the Englishman and was out and out great.
Social media completely erupted with the images of Abbas after the world saw Ben Stoke be totally outfoxed by a delivery that passed the left-hand batsman and crashed onto the stumps. Ben Stokes is considered by many as the best batsman and all-rounder on the world at present. In the 50 innings Stokes as played at home this is the first time he has been dismissed for a duck.
Stokes was batting right around standing a foot outside of his crease on the second day of the first Test to avoid the chance of being dismissed by lbw. However, made the mistake of leaving a tremendous gap to be bowled out eventually.
Prior to the start of the Test match, Michael Vaughan had said that this series could be said as that of Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, similar to what Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis scripted nearly three decades ago. But Abbas’s dismissal Stokes has made experts believe why he could end up being the deadliest seamer in this series. Pakistan’s pace attack continued with Shaheen Afridi as England were put on the back foot by taking three wickets at a quick interval as the hosts ended the day with a score of 92/4.
