Yesterday’s IPL match was played between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Rider. In this match, DC defeated KKR by 9 wickets on the back of opener Prithvi Shaw’s 82 runs innings. It was an easy target for DC to reach the 155-run mark as Shaw ensured Delhi’s victory by sharing a 132-run partnership for the first wicket with Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan played well to score 46 runs.
Pat Cummins broke the partnership by dismissing Dhawan in the 14th over and Later Cummins also sent Shaw and Rishabh Pant (16) to the pavilion.
Earlier, Andre Russell’s unbeaten 45 runs saw the KKR recover from top and middle order failure to score 154 runs for six wickets. KKR, sent for batting first, started poorly and in the fourth over, opener Nitish Rana (15) was sent to the pavilion by Axar Patel. Subsequently, Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi tried to hold the fort for some time but Marcus Stoinis broke the partnership by dismissing Tripathi in the 10th over for 19 runs with KKR’s scorecard reading 69 runs.
Lalit Yadav dismissed Eoin Morgan and Sunil Narine in the same over as they returned without opening their account. KKR’s score was reduced to 75 for 4 in the 11th over. Following that Gill was dismissed by Avesh Khan for 43 runs. DC with 10 points are now placed at second place in the points table while KKR are at 5th place with 4 points.
