Shaw, Agarwal, Gill fail to impress in practice game ahead of New Zealand Tests

After the whitewash ODI loss against New Zealand for the Indian team, a practice match before 2 test series like a warm-up game met for a match at the Seddon Park in New Zealand. The 1st Test series is beginning on 21st February to 25th at Basin Reserve, Wellington and, the 2nd Test series will begin from 29th February to March 4th, 2020 in Christchurch on the Hagley Oval cricket ground, New Zealand.

The practice match that began from February 14th, 2020, the Team Blue batted first in the innings between the host team and home ground players at Seddon Park. Both the teams had played with the Under-19 team members representing each country, assisted by the team seniors. In the Indian team bowlers like Ashwin, Umesh Yadav and Ajinkya Rahane along with Wriddhiman Saha the wicketkeeper were playing on the New Zealand cricket ground.

As the Indian team opened first, Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal came in but walked back quickly, since Shaw fell for a duck and Agarwal 1 in the beginning. Shubman Gill who is also listed in the Test matches against New Zealand was gone for a duck, resulting in a score of 5-3 in 7 overs. Cheteshwar Pujara 93(211) runs, Hanuma Vihari 101(182) runs, and Rahane with 18 India scored 263-10 in 78.5 overs. With the ducks and a run, the Indian team seems unsure against the Kiwi’s Test matches.
