Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 38 runs in the 10th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Along with this, RCB scored a hat-trick of victories in IPL 2021. Not only this, RCB have won their first three matches for the first time in the history of IPL. AB de Villiers scored 76 off 34 balls with the help of 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Winning the toss RCB decided to bat first and scored 204 for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, KKR managed to score only 166 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. KKR were able to score just 5 runs in the last 2 overs. KKR’s score was 161 for 7 wickets in 18 overs. Kyle Jamieson took three wickets for RCB. Apart from him, Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 wickets each. Washington Sundar was also successful in taking a wicket.
Andre Russell scored the highest of 31 runs for KKR. Apart from him, Nitish Rana scored 18, Shubman Gill 21, Rahul Tripathi 25, Eoin Morgan scored 29 and Shakib Al Hasan scored 26 runs. So far, 28 matches have been played between the two teams in the IPL. In this, KKR has won 15 and RCB 13. This was the first time that these two teams faced off against each other at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
