Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is set to miss the fitness camp arranged by his IPL team Chennai Super Kings before departing to the UAE for IPL 2020. The camp is scheduled to last for 6 days and it would be focusing on the fitness and cricket training of the players. The camp will take place between August 15 and 20 in their home turf Chennai.
As of now, the team’s captain MS Dhoni, vice-captain Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and Harbhajan Singh are said to be attending the camp first. Speaking about Jadeja’s absence for the camp the CEO of CSK Kasi Viswanathan said to ESPNCricinfo that it was due to some personal commitments the left-hander will be seen missing the camp. But Jadeja has assured that he will be reaching Chennai to depart to UAE with the team on Aug 21.
The camp which will be hosted behind closed doors will have only have bowling coach L Balaji from the team’s coaching staff. Viswanathan commented that CSK’s head coach Fleming and assistant coach Mike Hussey will most likely join their team in Dubai by Aug 22.
The CEO also updated that after the recent conversation he had with the two South African players Faf du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi, both individuals have agreed to participate in this season but only be able to join their CSK squad on September 1 at Dubai.
