Parthiv Patel takes a jibe at RCB upon being released after retirement

All the 8 franchises on Wednesday announced the list of released and retained players for the 14th season of the IPL. Teams have made some serious calls as they bid farewell to some of the big names ahead of the mini-auction, which is likely to be held next month.
In the interim, former Indian wicket keeper-batsman Parthiv Patel took a jibe at RCB on getting released in the wake of being retired. He took to Twitter and wrote it was an absolute honour to be released after being retired thanking RCB.
RCB, then again, didn’t specify the word ‘release’ while informing about Parthiv’s departure in their statement. The statement further read Parthiv Patel is the other obvious player to be released.
Parthiv remains to be the youngest player to play Test cricket and he joined the RCB franchise in the 2018 edition. He featured in 20 matches in the RCB outfit and scored a total of 526 runs. Nonetheless, he didn’t get a spot in the playing XI all through the last season which was held in the UAE.
On December 9, Parthiv announced his retirement from international cricket. He later went on to join his former franchise Mumbai Indians in the role of a talent scout.
RCB has released players for the 2021 season whose names are Umesh Yadav, Chris Morris, Moeen Ali, Aaron Finch, Isuru Udana, Dale Steyn, Gurkeerat Mann, Shivam Dube, Pawan Negi, Parthiv Patel (retired).
