Devdutt Padikkal earlier on March 22 had tested positive for Covid-19 and was under quarantine at home. Now after his tests returning with a negative report has joined Royal Challengers Bangalore squad at Chennai. A statement from RCB said that the team’s medical team was in touch with him during his ordeal with the virus.
After traveling by road from his home in Bengaluru Paddikal joined the RCB team at Chennai on Wednesday. But it is still unclear of him taking part in RCB’s training sessions. Padikkal in a video released by RCB on Twitter said following the BCCI’s protocol had quarantined at home for 2 weeks. Now after producing two negative tests, he has joined the camp.
The youngster also added him feeling completely fine and that he can’t wait to get back out and join the RCB camp. As per BCCI protocol for COVID-19 players who have tested positive will have to produce two negative tests consecutively after quarantining for a minimum of ten days and upon arriving at the team hotel the individual needs to test negative again.
Asides from this they will have to clear few medical tests like cardiac screening and can then join the bubble. Now Australian allrounder Daniel Sams of RCB has also tested positive for Covid-19. RCB tweeted after arriving in Chennai Sams had returned a negative test on April 3. But the result of the second test on April 7 returned positive.
