India’s Rishabh Pant has shown stellar performance in the ongoing Test series against England. He is the third-highest run-getter of the series with 168 runs only next to Joe Root (297) and Rohit Sharma (205). On Tuesday in a pre-match virtual press-conference, Root spoke highly of Pant and his skill to take the challenge towards the opponent. Root said Pant to be a fine player who makes it difficult for bowlers with his brilliant shots. He emphasized that it is up to them to keep him quiet or make it difficult to bat and taking the attack to them. Root feels Pant is a great talent and gameplay but is someone who would give ample chances to dismiss and England will be ready this time to capitalize on it. Pant during this series has scored consecutive fifty-plus scores so far. His presence in the team has troubled England big time. With the third match in the four-match Test series is set to be played at Motera Stadium this match will be a pink ball day-night encounter against both teams. India in the second Test match dominated England completely to defeat them by 317 runs. With that India leveled the series 1-1. In order to qualify for the ICC Test Championship finals, India will have to win the series by either 3-1 or 2-1 and if done so they would play against New Zealand in the coveted match.
