IPL 2022: Rahul Tewatia opens up on playing for Gujarat Titans


The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League gets underway from 26th March. New Franchise Gujarat Titans will start their IPL campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on 28th March at the Wankhede stadium. All-rounder Rahul Tewatia who shot to fame after smashing five sixes in an over has opened up on playing alongside Hardik Pandya. Gujarat Titans bought Tewatia for a whopping INR 9 crore in the 2022 IPL auction.

Tewatia recently said that he is keen to take responsibility in all three departments. Tewatia told that he has to finish his unfinished business. The 28-year-old cricketer admitted that he will be eager to win the coveted IPL trophy this season, which he has never won yet. Tewatia said that it will be a bigger thing if his franchise wins the trophy in the first year.

The left-handed batter revealed that he would need to shoulder a lot of responsibility when he comes out to bat. Tewatia hopes to take more responsibility alongside skipper Hardik Pandya in the middle-order batting. Tewatia stated that the role of an all-rounder is very important in every team. The role of a player who bats at 6, 7, or 8 is crucial, as he has more opportunity to make an impact and put the team in a good position.

The right-arm bowler expresses that the team will stick to the plans while bowling. Tewatia concluded that he will be hoping to deliver his best in any situation and make the team win. Gujarat Titans can perform well in its first season as they have assembled a strong squad.
