IPL 2021 qualifier 2: Kolkata knight Riders beat Delhi capitals in a last-over encounter


Kolkata Knight Riders edged Delhi Capitals in a last- over thriller to reach the 2021 IPL finals. KKR chased a target of 136 with 1 ball to spare and won the match by three wickets. DC bowlers almost pulled one of the greatest come backs, but KKR won the qualifier after Rahul Tripati hit Ravi Ashwin for a Six in the final over.

After being put into bat first, DC had an average start Varun chakravarthy dismissed Prithiv shaw (18) by trapping him leg before wicket. DC batsmen struggled to find the rhythm and Score quick runs. Shikhar Dharshan (36)

and Stoinis (18) added 39 runs for the second wicket before they were dismissed by Shivam and Chakravarthy. DC skipper Rishabh Pant failed to stay on the Crease and went back for just four runs.

Shubman Gill took a brilliant diving catch to dismiss Hetmyer but it was in vain as the third umpire called it as a no-ball. Then Hetmyer Contributed useful 17 runs. Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 30 and has helped DC to reach a defendable score of 135/5 in 20 Overs.

Chasing 136 runs, Gill and Venkatesh Iyer gave a blistering start for KKR. While Gill rotated the strike, Iyer scored runs on boundaries and took KKR to 76/0 in 10 overs. Iyer registered his third IPL fifty before Rabada dismissed him for 55.

KKR looked well on course for the win, but Delhi pacers brought back their team into the game by picking up wickets ho consecutive Over’s. Avesh khan dismissed well-set Gill for 44 in the 17th over, While Rabada clean bowled Dinesh Karthik in the 18th over, Nortje bagged Morgan in the 19th over.

Ravi Ashwin bowled the final over with KKR needing 7 runs to win the match. Ashwin bowled brilliantly and took two wickets in consecutive deliveries. Tripati then smashed a six on the fifth ball. of the over to take KKR home. Finally, KKR recorded an unforgettable win. KKR will meet CSK in the finals on 15th October in Dubai.
