Royal Challenger Bangalore’s star batsman AB de Villiers scored a staggering hundred in the warm-up game. Royal Challenger Bangalore played their first practice match at The Sevens Stadium. RCB played the warm-up game to get accustomed to new climatic conditions and ensure that the players could play a full game in the hot conditions of the UAE.
The practice match turned out to be the last ball thriller with brilliant performances from both the teams. RCB ‘A’ team led by Harshal Patel won the toss and decided to bat. RCB ‘A’ team put on a fantastic batting display by setting a target of 213 runs.
AB de Villiers led the ‘A’ team batting and scored quick runs.AB de Villiers smashed 104 off just 46 deliveries; his knock had 7 boundaries and 10 sixes. AB de Villiers nicknamed Mr.360 proved that he is in great touch and continues his aggressive form. Mohammed Azharuddeen partnered with the South African and smashed 66 off 43 balls.
Chasing a formidable total, RCB ‘B’ team performed exceptionally well to win the match. KS Bharat top-scored with 95 runs. RCB ‘B’ team Captain Padikkal complemented him well with 36 runs. The warm-up game turned into a thriller towards the end as the RCB ‘B’ team required three runs off the final two deliveries. However, they surpassed the RCB ‘A’ team with a boundary and won the match by 7 wickets.
Mr.360 said that he is pleased with the runs on the board and feels very happy about scoring more runs. Royal Challenger Bangalore will resume its IPL campaign against KKR on 20th September.
