Indian Test captain Virat Kohli indicated that his side may play an extra pacer in the second Test against the Kiwis. Kohli feels that team India wants to exploit the likely change in conditions if persistent rainfall continues. Mumbai is witnessing unseasonal and heavy rain, which has also caused a sudden drop in temperature. A sharp change in Mumbai weather will play a key role in India’s bowling combination.

The hosts might revise their three-spin strategy for the Wankhede Test. Kohli hinted that pacer Mohammed Siraj may be included in the playing XI in place of a spinner. Indian skipper believes that the overcast conditions would bring seam and swing bowlers into the equation. Kohli added that the weather conditions will not remain the same for all five days.

Virat Kohli said the team management would keep the weather change in mind and pick the combination accordingly. Kohli admitted that Wriddhiman Saha has recovered from his neck spasm and is fit to play. But the cricketing fans have to wait and see whether Saha plays or team management trusts Srikar Bharat’s abilities.

Kohli expressed that the Wankhede pitch will demand a lot of discipline. Kohli further added that it is a great cricketing wicket, where all the fast bowlers enjoy playing. Even the batsmen love batting here as they can play their shots freely on a track with a lot of bounce.

Test cricket is returning to the Wankhede after long five years. The final battle would be a good contest to watch as the Kiwi pacers’ can trouble the Indian batters with their seam and swing.
