India tour of England: Virat Kohli on verge of achieving five big records in England

The Five match test series between India and England begins on 4th August at Trent Bridge. Indian skipper Virat Kohli has the best average among the International players. He averages more than 50 in all three formats of the international cricket.

Virat Kohli has more opportunity to create history and achieve five big records in the England test series. Indian captain Virat Kohli has scored 7547 runs in 92 test matches, which includes 27 centuries and 25 half-centuries. He needs 453 runs to complete 8000 runs in international Test cricket.

Virat Kohli needs just 211 more runs to reach 2000 runs mark against England in the Test format. If Kohli does that, he will overtake Rahul Dravid (1950 runs) and join the list alongside Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, and Alastair Cook.

Virat Kohli has to score a couple of half-centuries to overtake Virender Sehwag. Kohli needs 3 more to sail into the top 5 who had scored most fifties for India in International Test cricket. He will join Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and VVS Laxman on the list.

The Indian skipper will be very keen in scoring a century as he had not scored a ton since November 2019. If he scores a couple of centuries in the first test match, he can take over Steve Smith (27) and also equal with Hashim Amla, and Michael Clarke (28).

Virat Kohli will become the skipper to lead India in most tests by overtaking MS Dhoni’s 15 test matches. If Virat Kohli wins the first test, he will overtake West Indian Clive Lloyd as both have won 36 matches each. Only three captains of India Ajit Wadekar, Kapil Dev, and Dravid have led India to win a test series in England.
