India beat South Africa by 113-run to win the first Test and took a 1-0 lead in three-match series. Chasing a stiff target of 305, South Africa was bowled out for 191 on the final day of the opening Test in SuperSport Park. Indian bowlers took only two overs after lunch to wrap a historic win. Virat Kohli and his men breached the South African fortress to register the first-ever Test win at Centurion. India has become the first Asian nation to win a Test in Centurion.

It is especially the Indian seamers who scripted a convincing and famous win. India outclassed the Proteas in all three departments. This emphatic win would boost India’s confidence to win the maiden test series in South Africa. The Proteas started the final day on a positive note with some boundaries from Dean Elgar and Temba Bavuma’s bat. But the Indian pacers bowled brilliantly to get back into the game.

Jasprit Bumrah was the standout performer for bagging the big wicket of Dean Elgar. Later, Mohammed Siraj removed Quinton de Kock by bowling tight lines. De Kock lost his patience and played on to his stumps. In the very next over, Mohammed Shami dismissed Wiaan Mulder with an excellent moving away delivery. Mulder edged it to Rishabh Pant, who made no mistake behind stumps.

After Lunch, veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed both Rabada and Lungi Ngidi for a duck to clinch a memorable victory. Indian pace spearhead Bumrah became the fastest Indian bowler to complete 100 Test wickets away from home. He surpassed the previous record set by Bhagwat Chandrasekhar (25 Tests). Bumrah has taken just 23 matches to achieve this milestone.
