IND vs NZ, 2nd Test: India registered a massive 372 Runs win to Seal the Series 1-0

India crushed New Zealand by 372 runs to win the final game of the two-match test series. Indian spinners once again proved that they are hot to handle on home soil. Needing 400 runs to win the match, New Zealand batters crumbled and lost their wickets in quick succession on Day 4. Team India reclaimed the top spot of the ICC Test rankings after securing the test series 1-0.

India bowled out the World Test champions for 167 in the second innings to notch an emphatic win at the Wankhede. India wrapped up the match in double quick time as the visitors lost their last five wickets for just 27 runs. Team India registered its first Test match win under new head coach Rahul Dravid.

Debutant Rachin Ravindra saved the first test for New Zealand with his stubborn batting. But this time India came on top as Ravichandran Ashwin and Jayant Yadav took four wickets each in the second innings. Virat Kohli led side recorded its biggest win in Test cricket in terms of runs, the previous best was a 337-run win against South Africa in 2015.

Yadav bowled brilliantly and showed good variations in his spell. Yadav picked up the wickets of Rachin Ravindra, Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, and William Somerville in no time. Yadav removed all four batters in his three back-to-back overs. The Kiwis never had a chance to recover from that collapse.

Indian opener Mayank Agarwal received the player of the match award for his blistering knocks (150 & 62) in both innings. Ashwin led the Indian bowling attack and scalped a total of 14 wickets to win the player of the series award.
