Explosive half-centuries from De Kock and Suryakumar gives Mumbai Indians their fourth consecutive win in this tournament

On Sunday Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets. In this match played in Abu Dhabi, Delhi posted a target of 163 runs which was achieved by Mumbai Indians in 19.4 overs as they scored 166 runs for 5 wickets. This is Mumbai’s fourth consecutive win. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals have lost a game after winning three consecutive matches. With this win, Mumbai Indians reach the top position in the points table by going past the Delhi Capitals.

Suryakumar Yadav scored 53 off 32 balls and Quinton de Kock scored 53 runs off 36 balls for Mumbai. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion after scoring 5 runs off 12 balls. Hardik Pandya was dismissed and returned back without scoring any runs. Ishaan Kishan scored 28 while Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya remained not out as they both scored 11 and 12 runs. Kagiso Rabada took two wickets for Delhi.

Delhi Capitals scored 162 for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan scored his first half-century of the season. Dhawan played an unbeaten innings of 69 off 52 balls and Alex Carrey scored 14 off 9 balls. Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for 42 runs off 33 balls where he hit five fours in his innings. Iyer shared an 85-run partnership with Dhawan for the third wicket. Marcus Stoinis was runout after scoring 13 runs and returned to the dugout.
