England’s side is weak: Gavaskar confident of India winning the Test series against England

Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar says that the England squad is quite weak. Gavaskar feels that the Indian team can win the test series 4-0 or 3-1. He also said that this could be the best chance for India to win a series for the first time on English soil since 2007. India has failed to win a series during their tours in 2011, 2014, and 2018.

Sunil Gavaskar added that the Indian team will not take the WTC loss into the mind and will show that they are the top side that can perform in all conditions. Both the teams have good bowling attacks but India is superior to England in the batting department. The England side is weak in their batting, which was seen earlier against New Zealand.

England’s batting side is weaker with their match-winning all-rounder Ben Stokes is also not available as he pulled out his name from the team. Earlier Stokes said that he needs some rest to get his mental strength back.

Gavaskar added that there will be a good battle between Virat Kohli and James Anderson. He is confident that the Indian skipper will win it as he did in 2018. Gavaskar said the Indian squad must have played three practice matches in England so that the players can adapt themselves to the English conditions.

Gavaskar has backed Pujara for his anchoring play with the bat and wants him to score big centuries in the test series. Gavaskar expects KL Rahul to open the batting for India. Sunil Gavaskar is one of the two players, who scored a double century in England.
