Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is added to India’s Squad for the fourth test against England at the Oval stadium. The Indian team management had requested the selection committee to add Prasidh Krishna to the main Squad. Prasidh Krishna, who was kept as a reserve player has gotten a big opportunity to prove himself.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India, confirmed that all-India senior selection Committee had taken the necessary action only at the request of the team management. Prasidh Krishna has been bowling in the nets right from the start of the tour. The Karnataka pacer has been added to the main Squad, but it remains to be seen whether he will manage to make it to the playing XI.

The Indian fast bowler’s numbers extend to seven after the addition of Prasidh Krishna. Krishna, who has played three ODIs is yet to make his test debut. He made his ODI debut against England in March 2021. Prasidh Krishna took six wickets in the series.

The Indian team management may drop Ishant Sharma, whose fitness remains in discussion after he suffered an niggle in the last test. Another seamer Mohammed Siraj, who had played all three tests, may be rested for the fourth test match.

Even though Shardul Thakur and Umesh Yadav are waiting in the wings, the addition of Prasidh Krishna is a strong indication that the 25-year old pacer is in line to play his first test on Thursday.

Premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is yet to feature in this test series. India will take the field with four fast bowlers in London. The Indian team will aim for a strong comeback after facing a crushing defeat at the Headingley Test. The fourth test between India and England starts today at 3:30 pm.
