On the recent ban placed on the Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal his sibling, Kamran Akmal, took a stance supporting the ban placed on Umar Akmal on Monday 27th April 2020 and quoted it as a “harsh” decision by the national disciplinary panel. Umar Akmal’s ban for not reporting the Pakistan Super League’s spot-fixing had recorded the cricketer under the Anti-Corruption article of 2.4.4 for two faults which the cricketer had agreed and chose not to appeal the higher representatives.
Kamran Akmal pointed out that his brother, who is a wicket-keeper, and batsman, had played 16 Tests, attained 1,003 runs with 6 fifties, and 1 hundred. Again, he had batted in 121 ODIs, including 20 fifties, and two centuries with an average of 86.04 strike rate. Umar had played more than 50 T20i’s and scored 1690 runs by the cricketer. Secondly, Kamran said in the past, for the similar accusation players had faced short-term bans referring to Mohammed Irfan, and Mohammed Nawaz cricketers, so Kamran felt hard to understand and surprised about the PCBs legal statement.
Though Umar Akmal represented himself before the nation’s disciplinary panel to the Justice Mr. Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan, the cricketer’s reasons for not disclosing the approach is unknown. Therefore, Kamran Akmal mentioned that the decision was harsh compared with previous actions treated differently than to his brother so, Kamran Akmal said that Umar Akmal would appeal to higher forums against the ban placed on the cricketer.
