Sachin Tendulkar donates Rs 50 lakh to fight COVID-19

  World fighting a battle with the pandemic Novel COVID-19 had raised the stakes to more than 5,00,000 people testing positive for the disease has brought us to face the unpredictability. With India under a 21 days lockdown, as per the order passed by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 24th March 2020, had all the international matches to halt the games. 

         Meanwhile, government initiatives, social media posts, audio, and video messages had been shared by many international sports and non-sports stars. Apart from the awareness about the COVID-19, a couple of the Indian sports personalities among various other contributors had stepped forward and donated a sum to the governance of the country. Previously, the badminton player PV Sindhu had donated rupees 5 lakh each to the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governances, now the cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar and the former Indian cricket team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni had donated to suppress the COVID-19 spread.

         The master batsman Tendulkar gave rupees 50 lakh to the fight against the coronavirus, shared among the Prime Minister Relief Fund 25 lakh and 25 lakh to the Chief Minister Relief Fund. MS Dhoni donated 1 lakh rupees for the cause to an NGO in Pune, and the renowned brothers in the same field known as Irfan and Yusuf Pathan gave 4000 facial masks to the department of Health and Police in Baroda. Roger Federer, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc. had donated for the COVID-19 cause.
