Pakistan won by 263 runs against Sri Lanka in 2nd Test

The Pakistan team hosted their match in their land after a decade. The 2nd test series of Pakistan and Sri Lanka took place at Karachi National Stadium on December 23rd, 2019.

Due to the heavy rainfall, the field was impacted so the 1st innings in the Test series of 2019 which was scheduled in October changed to December 2019. Sri Lanka won the toss and batted first. They decided to play with minimal overs because of the climatic conditions. But in the end, they shook hands with the innings of 271 (10) from Sri Lanka and 191 (10) from Pakistan. Abid Ali and Usman Shinwari debuted this Test series.

The 2nd set of Test series is from 19th to 23rd December 2019. Sarfaraz Ahmed was back with a bang for 2nd innings. Pakistan won the toss, and they decided to bat.

Unfortunately, the Sri Lankan bowlers could not control the centuries showered by the top 4 Pakistan batsmen.  Abid Ali 174 runs (also won the Man of the Match and Player of the series award) and Shan Masood with 135 runs had backed the 2nd innings to win.

The bowlers of the 2nd innings predominantly took wickets, shrinking the Lankan team quickly. Naseem Shah recognised as the youngest fast bowler and Shaheen Afridi each took five wickets in their debut 2019 Test series.

After an awaited win both the team appreciated the player’s security provided by the board officials.
