The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the highly anticipated schedule for the upcoming 2023 Cricket World Cup, set to take place in India from October 5 to November 19. The tournament will feature ten teams battling it out to win the supreme title in cricket. Men in Blue aim to secure their third World Cup title, second on home soil, as they get off the ground against five-time champions Australia at M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.

India will take on the arch-rivals Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15. India will have a hectic schedule during the World Cup campaign, as they are set to play nine matches at nine different venues. It is the most by any of the 10 teams in the upcoming championship.

India’s skipper Rohit Sharma expects a highly competitive ODI World Cup in India, crediting it to the game’s increased pace due to the influence of T20 cricket. This World Cup is going to be very competitive as the game has become faster, and teams are playing with more positivity than ever before, Rohit stated in a press release.

It’s going to be a great experience playing in the World Cup at home. India won here 12 years ago, and I know fans nationwide can’t wait for us to take the field this time, he further added. This bodes well for fans around the world, promising them numerous thrilling moments. We are eagerly looking forward to preparing diligently and performing at our best this October-November, Rohit concluded.
