Australia vs Pakistan 2nd Test Match: Nathan Lyon leads Aussies to innings win in 2nd Test as wins’ horrific record extends on Australia

Nathan Lyon took 2 wickets in the 1st session on Monday and 3 wickets in the 2nd session before Australia finished off a win by an innings and 48 runs under lights to complete a 2 Test series sweep within a day.

Nathan Lyon had never taken a 5 wicket haul against Pakistan. The veteran off-spinner hadn’t taken a wicket in the day-night Test until the 4th day.

Lyon 32 year old player now has 50 Test wickets at the Adelaide Oval stadium, where he had play as a keeper before making the national team, his 16th 5 wickets haul in Tests and his 1st against Pakistan.

Pakistan continued with 39-3 on day 4 and took the total to 123 before Lyon came into his own common turf. Hazlewood picked up the last wicket soon after the dinner break and Cummins finished off the match when he threw down the stumps at the non-striker’s end to run out Abbas.

Austrian Opener Warner’s triple hundred set Australia team on course for another big win, following up from his 154 in the 1st Test. Labuschagne also produced back-to-back hundred as the Australian batsmen dominated an inexperienced Pakistan attack.

Lyon dismissed Afridi to complete a 5 wickets haul with the final delivery before the main interval on Monday as Pakistan for 229-8. Pakistan added only 10 runs after the break.
