Indian veteran batter Virat Kohli hopes to hit good form when he returns to international cricket at the Asia Cup 2022. Kohli is all set to step onto the field aftera break of over a month. Men in blue will kick off their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28. Kohli would be hoping to leave a long-lasting impact in the tournament by scoring big.
Though the star batter’s international ton came more than 1,000 days ago, a quality half-century or fifty-plus runs will give him the much-needed confidence. The talismanic batter failed to hit a single half-century in the six innings that he played across all formats in England.
The former India captain acknowledged the mistakes he made in England, stating the dismissals had a similar pattern and he has worked hard enough to rectify it.The 33-year-old cricketer admitted that there is nothing to point out saying that the problem is happening here.
Kohli expressed that it is actually an easier phase to process because he knows that he is batting well.Kohli further added that he didnot feel like he was batting well inEngland. So, Kohli had to work hard on one thing that could be exposed again and again which he overcame.
The right-handed batter added that he is not afraid of the bad phase he is going through. He rather wants to learn from it and wants to understand what are the core values that he has as a sportsperson. Kohli concluded that there are ups and downs but he knows how consistent he can be.
