IPL 2022 Mega Auction: Cheteshwar Puajara, Sreesanth among 590 cricketers to go under the hammer

The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the list of 590 cricketers who will go under the hammer during the two-day mega auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League season. The mega auction will take place in Bengaluru on 12th and 13th February 2022. Indian top-order batter Cheteshwar Pujara and former pacer S Sreesanth are set to go under the hammer during the auction. Both have registered at a base price of INR 50 lakh.

Among the 590 registered players, 228 are capped international cricketers, 355 are uncapped and seven players belong to Associate Nations. Out of those 590, 370 are Indian players and the remaining 220 are overseas players. These 590 players will hope to scalp a big deal as 10 IPL franchises will be placing their bids to rope in some of the biggest cricketing names.

A strong battle to get the services of some of the finest Indian cricket talents is on the cards when the likes of Suresh Raina, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, etc under the hammer. David Warner, Trent Boult, Pat Cummins, Ashwin, Quinton de Kock, Dhawan, Faf du Plessis, Iyer, Kagiso Rabada, and Shami are the ten marquee players who have set their base price as INR 2 crore.

INR 2 crore is the highest reserve price and 48 players have placed themselves in this bracket. The pool also includes some U-19 stars such as Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal, and Rajvardhan Hangargekar. Some of the promising Indian talents such as Devdutt Padikkal, Shahrukh Khan, Harshal Patel, and Avesh Khan would be looking to make their mark in the competition.
