Kuldeep Yadav, the Indian bowler, has revealed how constantly sitting on the bench has taken a toll on him and his confidence. After foraying into international cricket back in 2017, the left-arm spinner has played all three formats for the national team. However, in the last 12 months or so, he hasn’t gotten many chances. In fact, back in February, Kuldeep made his comeback to Test cricket after two years. Though he picked 2 wickets against England in Chennai he wasn’t in the playing XI for the matches in Ahmedabad where the pitches suited spin-bowling more. After being unsuccessful in getting wickets in two ODIs in Pune, he was sidelined again. It’s been nearly 16 months since Kuldeep played international T20Is. After not getting much chance. he said it got tougher for him and thus felt huge pressure during the Test against England in Chennai. At times he had doubts about his abilities and felt not wanting to be in the squad. Kuldeep also didn’t get to play a single match for the KKR in the recent edition of the IPL. Despite playing in Chennai, a pitch that has always suited spin was left baffled. In the spin-department KKR mostly preferred Sunil Narine, Shakib Al Hasan and Varun Chakravarthy. During his IPL debut season in 2016, Kuldeep picked 6 wickets from just 3 games. Bad performances in 2019 and 2020 have made it tough for Kuldeep.
